My name is Amber Maggio (previously Perryman). Originally from the Lake District in northern England and growing up on a steady diet of pets, horses, rescued wildlife and James Herriot novels I always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian.

At 18 I started on the path to my dream, beginning my studies reading Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, London.. and what a rollercoaster ride it has been since - landing me in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains.

I treat both small animals (dogs, cats, bunnies, and small pocket pets) and horses in your home or at their place of residence. My career has been primarily equine, however I have always kept a hand in the small animal side to ensure my skills are well-rounded, including urgent care and emergency work. I have worked in hospitals both equine and small animal in the UK and the USA, completing both an internship and ABVP residency (equine), and further training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and acupuncture.

I am also a certified Feline Friendly Veterinarian.

I am also available for relief services to local clinics for any small animal or equine work.

My ethos: I want to uphold the human - animal bond and provide personal, holistic care. I want to make sure clients are fully informed and a partner on the journey with their beloved pet. I will look after you (or your clients) to the best of my ability. No question is “silly”; my job is to answer - and if I don’t know, find out!
